What one founder discovered about HYSS365's real value, after three months and 671 entries.
Four hours a day, for three months, I filled HYSS365 with 671 entries. Honestly, the first time I reviewed them, doubt hit me before anything else.
Out of curiosity, I searched three months of entries for emotion keywords.
Happiness, joy, and satisfaction combined came to just 19 entries — 2.8% of the 671 total.
Most of what I'd poured three months into was "work as a role," and the moments I actually felt alive made up less than a thirtieth of it. Seeing that number was genuinely startling.
HYSS365 isn't a tool for piling things up — it's a tool that turns the density of your life into a number you can actually look back on.
Volume doesn't create insight. The single act of searching and reflecting on what's already been recorded is what creates it. Without those 671 entries, I would never have known my own happiness rate was 2.8%.
Rather than digging back through those 19 entries, I've decided to spend the next three months deliberately creating more fragments of happiness, joy, and satisfaction. The goal: go from 2.8% to 5%. In three months, I plan to compare the numbers again — "three months of deliberate effort" against "three months that just happened."
In the rush of daily life, most of us end up living out a role. The only way to know for certain when we actually felt alive inside that role isn't memory — it's data. HYSS365 builds that data, and a single search turns it into a number that tells the truth. For me, that turned out to be the real reason this tool exists.
